July, the last hour of daylight. The light so thick and honeyed you could spread it on toast.
Teddy and I were college roommates. Twenty-two years ago we ate cereal for dinner and thought it was freedom. Now here we were on the 11th green, two men with reading glasses in our shirt pockets, debating whether a putt broke left or broke more left.
It broke more left. He made it. Birdie. He raised his putter to the sky like a man who'd just been released from prison.
Celebration called for something with a little fire, so I ordered the mahi wrap. Blackened mahi, wrapped up in a spinach wrap, green as the 11th. Mango habanero, sweet at first and then, a beat later, not sweet at all. Crisp lettuce. Mango salsa, bright and juicy, the taste of a vacation you haven't booked yet. House-made chips alongside, salty and gone too fast. A pickle spear, cool and composed, there to talk you down.
We ate on the patio while the sun slid down behind the course and stretched every slope of every green into long shadow.
"Cereal," Teddy said, between bites. "We ate cereal." He shook his head. I passed him the last chip. Some debts take twenty-two years to settle.

Came for the putting, stayed for the food. The double smash burger is unreal, crispy edges and that bacon jam. We ended up sitting on the patio for two hours after our round.

Ordered a round of BarTender's Choice cocktails from the course and they found us on the 11th. The Birdie Juice is dangerously good. Already planning our next visit.

The kids ran between the playground and our table the whole time. Tenders were hot and crispy, and they were thrilled with the chips. Easiest family night we've had in months.

Honestly didn't expect a golf spot to have food this good. The ahi tuna nachos and miso salmon were both a hit. The course itself is legit too, real breaks and tiers.

Brunch on the patio before an early round is our new Sunday thing. Chicken and waffles with Mike's Hot Honey, a Hair of the Bird, and a lag putt I'm still bragging about.

Lost at cornhole, won at ping pong, and the wings made up for both. Staff kept checking on us without hovering. Great spot for a group.

The Tequila Creamsicle tastes like summer camp for adults. Paired it with the Korean steak tacos after our round and watched the sunset from the patio. Perfect night.
